Year Ahead Reading

Divination is the practice of seeking insight beyond what is immediately visible. Using sacred tools and intuitive interpretation, each reading creates a space to explore the energies, influences and messages surrounding you and your situation.

Divination has been practised across cultures for thousands of years, with each tradition developing its own sacred methods of seeking guidance and interpreting the unseen. Across Africa, practices include cowrie-shell divination, Ifá divination, bone casting, dream interpretation and ancestral forms of divination, while traditions beyond Africa have developed systems such as Tarot, runes, astrology, scrying and pendulum work.

Within my practice, I offer three forms of divination: Tarot Reading, Pendulum Divination & Cowrie Shell Throwing — each providing its own unique language through which guidance, clarity and spiritual insight can be explored.

Every reading is a conversation with the unseen, centred around you, your current circumstances and the questions you bring forward. Together, we can explore the energies surrounding love and relationships, career and finances, personal growth, spiritual development, opportunities, difficult decisions and periods of transition.

Your reading may reveal hidden influences, repeating patterns, underlying intentions, energetic blockages, spiritual lessons and possibilities you may not yet have considered. It can also highlight where your own choices and energy may be influencing the path ahead.

In some cases, your reading may uncover an area that requires further spiritual guidance, cleansing, protection, ritual or spell work. Where this arises, I may recommend additional spiritual work based on what has been revealed during your reading. Please come prepared for the possibility that prescribed guidance or spiritual work may need to be added separately to your reading should you wish to proceed with it.

Rather than simply asking “What will happen?”, divination allows us to explore what is happening beneath the surface, why certain energies are presenting themselves, what requires your attention and how you can move forward with greater clarity and intention.

Every reading begins with intention. I connect with the energy surrounding you and your question before selecting the spread and divination tools best suited to what you are seeking. No two readings are exactly the same — the cards are allowed to tell the story as it naturally unfolds.

Depending on your question, I may use a variety of Tarot spreads, from simple three-card spreads exploring past, present and future, to more detailed spreads looking at you versus them, thoughts–feelings–intentions, current energy, hidden influences, obstacles, advice and potential outcomes. For deeper or more complex situations, I may use larger spreads such as the Celtic Cross, relationship spreads, decision/pathway spreads or an intuitive free-flowing spread where additional cards are pulled as the message develops.

Tarot is often only the beginning. Alongside the traditional Tarot deck, I may introduce Oracle cards, affirmation cards, archetype cards, message cards or other specialised divination decks to provide additional layers of insight and confirmation. These can help clarify a Tarot message, expand upon a particular theme or provide further confirmation of the message being received from Spirit.

Where appropriate, I may also incorporate pendulum work or cowrie-shell throwing to explore particular questions from another divinatory perspective.

The purpose is not to force your situation into a predetermined spread, but to allow the reading to develop organically, using whichever tools and layouts are most appropriate for the guidance coming through.

Before We Begin

Come to your reading with an open mind, clear intentions and a willingness to receive the message as it presents itself. Divination is most powerful when we approach it seeking understanding rather than trying to force a particular answer or outcome.

Before your reading, I strongly encourage you to spend a little time thinking about what you genuinely want clarity on. Bring along any questions you would like answered — these can relate to love and relationships, career, finances, family, personal development, spiritual matters, decisions, opportunities or anything currently weighing on your mind. The more intentional your questions are, the deeper we can explore the situation.

You don’t need to know exactly how to word your questions. If you’re unsure, simply explain what you would like clarity around and I can help formulate questions that allow us to explore the situation more deeply. Open-ended questions such as “What do I need to understand about this situation?” or “What energy is influencing this connection?” can often reveal much more than a simple yes or no.

You are also welcome to arrive without a specific question and allow the reading to reveal what currently requires your attention. From there, we can ask further questions and follow the messages as they unfold.

Please remember that a reading is intended to provide guidance, perspective and spiritual insight rather than remove your personal agency. Messages may not always be what you expected to hear, so come prepared to receive both confirmation and redirection. The purpose is to leave you with greater clarity about what surrounds you and how you may choose to move forward.
